This is in continuation from 8 Ways to Shift your Circumstances Parts One and Two, which you can find Here and Here.
In Part One, we talked about the first 3 things you can do to shift your circumstances, which are to feel your feelings, move your body and forgiveness practice. In Part Two we talked about slowing down and having fun.
Let's bring it on home with six, seven and eight!
6. SPEND TIME IN NATURE
I'm sure this is not a new suggestion. But it bears repeating. Nature heals us. We witness nature, and it witnesses and holds us. You don't have to go far to get a dose - find the nearest tree or grass patch and you're golden. Hug the tree. Or place your palms on its trunk. Look up at the leaves or branches, depending on the season, and admire it. Sense the wisdom coming through from it to you. Imagine the joy the tree feels in sharing this with you. Imagine the roots from the tree deep in the Earth, bringing up beautiful gifts from Mother Earth for YOU, for all of us. Feel nourished and supported. Feel the majesty of this tree that has surrendered to it all.
Take off your shoes and put your bare feet on the ground. Again, feel the gifts coming up to nourish you. Now, if you live in a place like Missouri, like me, I prefer to do this in the fall, winter and spring before the chiggers come out and decide to munch on my feet and ankles like they solely exist for their divine eating pleasure... So you know, it's okay to adjust this to your comfort level 😊
You can go to a lake or river or ocean. I like to bless the water as I watch it. Imagine it bringing life and vibrance to all it touches. Feel it's BE-ing-ness. It just is. It just flows, it just tides, it just IS.
Look at a flower, and notice its colors.
If you can get away from noises from traffic and enjoy the sounds of birds, wind in the leaves, the creek nearby...do it. Allow your soul to be soothed. Feel supported. Feel the abundance of it all. Notice that no plant or tree feels badly for needing the conditions it needs to thrive. You are part of nature.
7. EAT NOURISHING FOODS
Foods that nourish your body, nourish your Soul. What feels nourishing to you? As you prepare your food, make it a gratitude practice. Not just for the bounty that allows you to have it to eat, but for the Earth, for the conditions that made it so that this piece of nourishment could make it to you this day. That it rejoices in feeding you just as you rejoice in eating. It becomes a part of your beautiful, miraculous body.
8. NOTICE AND THANK THE SEEMINGLY TINY AMOUNTS OF THINGS YOU WOULD LIKE MORE OF
As you practice this one, it can become a really enjoyable exercise.
All of us are working to enjoy expansion in some area(s) of our lives, right? And it can feel frustrating to really want to improve an area of your life, and feel like it's just not happening, or not fast enough or isn't meant for you, or any of the myriad of ways that can feel.
What we focus on expands. A nice exercise to shift our focus, is to write down gratitude for the ways it's already showing up for us.
For example, notice every time money shows up for you. Did you find a penny in the parking lot? Thank you! Do you have $2 in your checking account, thank you! Did you pay a bill? Thank you! Did someone offer you something of value? Thank you?
If you're wanting to improve your health, an example might be. I ate, and I felt good, thank you! I walked for 5 minutes around my home, thank you! I am breathing well, thank you! Or whatever you notice! Or even just how your body shows up for you. The things you are able to do in your body. If you're struggling with a health issue or issues, it can feel like nothing is going right. But if you find the small things that are going right, and thank them, and do it regularly, it can shift things.
This can be done for relationships, for career, for purpose. Feel SO free to think outside the box!
You can notice general things. Perhaps someone was pleasant to you at the store. Maybe you felt like a good friend by doing or saying something helpful for someone. You might notice all the things you do on a regular basis that is already like the thing you want to be doing more of for a career or just for your life.
We are the creators of our experience. We have had lifetimes of circumstances and societal, religious and cultural conditioning that has not supported us in this. We have so much more choice now. In this lifetime.
We get to say hey, maybe that worked for all of my ancestors, or maybe I settled for this for however long, but now we get to say, I'm allowed to create a life that nourishes my Soul. I give myself permission to notice the things that are already nourishing and allow them to expand. I get to choose yes or no.
The world needs you and your divine gifts.
Would you like support with this? I'd love to support you on your journey.
